Over the years, Tates have been installing and maintaining turnstile counting and monitoring systems for football, rugby, cricket and athletic stadia. These feedback to the operator through graphical representation screens the total counted entry in the stadium through the turnstiles. This in turn allows us to calculate flow rates through the turnstile and the estimated fill times. These can be either printed for a hard copy or saved on to the computer hard disk for future use.
Version 1 (MS-Dos) – turnstile monitoring
This was the first revision which is still being utilised to day in some stadiums. Based on the Computer controlling the turnstile counts. This has been around since the late 80′s, and has served the industry well. However, technology has improved and these are now being updated with our latest Version 3. This has now gone into maintenance mode, and can no longer be updated.
Version 2 (PLC) - turnstile monitoring
Introduced in the late 90′s, this was the fore runner to the currently installed version. This improved the accuracy, and introduced the front end to windows. Counting was taken away from the computer allowing for continual running in the unfortunate event of the computer failure. Battery backed Counting processor ensures the system is running continously under power failure conditions.
Version 3 (Web Browsing) - turnstile monitoring
First introduced to Liverpool FC, this has allowed replacement of both Version 1 & 2 front ends. Allowing the operator the full facilities of the PLC counting processor together with web sharing, therefore can be viewed on the stadiums ethernet. This is password protected and enables users to view change the settings remotely without actually visiting the master computer.
