Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS)

As part of the major upgrades throughout the prison estate integrated PID systems are now being employed in order to support the establishments security management team with latest technology advancements. The SMS systems will provide complete data logs of all alarm events together with video data storage upto 31 days.

Detection sensors are either wall or fence mounted around the perimeter of an establishment or secure hospital. These can take the form of either Lasers, Geophonic sensors or VMD via internal and external perimeter CCTV cameras, feeding into a central processor for decoding.

Any number of designated zones can be installed and are interfaced with the Graphical User Interface (GUI) situated in the communication room of the establishment or secure hospital. The System is also interfaced to a CCTV system, which under an alarm condition automatically moves designated cameras to view the zone in alarm condition. Typically 2 or more number CCTV monitors are used for automatic alarm viewing purposes. The alarms CCTV images are generally digitally recorded on DVR linked to the CCTV system.

The user interface can be either our own SMS currently in use in Doncaster Prison or Cortech’s DataLog4. Either way the facility can rest assured the security and integrity of the system will meet and exceed their requirements.
